2nd Grade meets Wassily Kandinsky

Students began this study with a brief look at Kandinsky’s variety of works.  They noticed a progression of the artist images “disappearing”.  We talked about shape and the colors that he used.  Students are using crayon and loads of muscles to create their own circle image, like Kandinsky’s Farbstudie Quadrate, c.1913. They are now gathering lids and circles from the recycle bins and will be creating a dimensional circle design.  I wish I could take credit for this idea but I found it on the internet from another art teacher.
